I have lived in Ballachulish all my life, married to Mary & have two sons David & Glenn, David now lives with his partner Nettie in Newtonmore, with my youngest son Glenn still at school in Kinlochleven. My wife works in the local Coffee Shop and I work all round the area, doing drystone dyking & slate walls. Recently I have been putting a lot of work into the village building flowerbeds where local residents then look after them, also having just finished a large slate monument at the entrance of the village, my eldest son David carved and filled out the name Ballachulish, it took some hard graft but we got there in the end!!! You will probable find me working on a slate wall somewhere around the village in my spare time.

I find it very fullfiling helping the village develop and by using my skills and experience feel I am leaving something that will remain well after I have gone......
