It is intended to put four picnic benches with related paths, so as to create an area for both local and visitors to enjoy.

When this work is finished we wish to dedicate the slate monument and the area to someone who has worked unselfishly for the good of Ballachulish Village past or present.

We are therefore looking for suggestions to whom this may be? These suggestions must be in by the end of August 2009 to qualifiy for consideration by the community council at it's September meeting. The result will be posted on this website and the local notice board for all to see.

We have one suggestion already which is the late Dr. Grant (who was involved with the infamous strike in the slate quarry in the 1900's).
