Football Club History
Ballachulish football club was reformed in 2004. Going by local knowladge it's 20 odd years since welfare football was played in the Jubilee Park. I have been involved in football for many years , playing as a youngster in my native Glasgow, then moving to Ballachulish I concentrated more on the coaching side of the game.
A brief history of the club, our club badge is the franking stamp redesigned by Gillian Sweeney which was printed on every 1000th slate produced in the quarry. The words Droch Tholl was acquired by information given by locals and comes about that when the quarry men were drilling the slate for blasting they would drill 10 holes, set the charge and if only 9 detonated then a quarry man would "shout "Droch Tholl" letting ever one know there was an unexploded charge!
Although a large part of of the team are from Ballachulish we have players form Kinlochleven, Glencoe, Duror Fort William and North Ballachulish that make up the 30 man squad the average age of which is 19.
In 2004 we ended up bottom of the welfare league, 2005 we were 4th top, 2006 3rd top, 2007 joint runners up and 2008 3rd top.
