Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup Semi Finals Day
SCOTTISH HYDRO CAMANACHD CUP SEMI-FINALS DAY

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This coming Saturday, 15th August, Ballachulish host the Semi-Finals of the Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup at Jubilee Park, with Fort William versus Bute throwing up at 1.30pm and Kingussie versus Kyles Athletic at 4.00pm.

All teams aspire to a place in the Final and a repeat of the 2008 Kingussie/Fort William final is a possibility if both results go their way, however the teams from the South, Kyles Athletic and Bute, will be out to prevent this. Spectators are guaranteed two thrilling exhibitions of shinty and, by staging both ties at the same venue, supporters and tourists have the opportunity to see two matches of the highest standard Scotland has to offer.

Donald Stewart, Vice President and Communications Director, said, ?Weather permitting, this level of competition in Ballachulish should further encourage the excellent development work being done in the area and will hopefully motivate young players to compete at top level.?

Douglas Flowers, Sponsorship Account Manager at Scottish Hydro, commented, ?With four great teams on display this new semi-final format will no doubt produce a great showcase for the sport. Events like this play a key role in increasing the profile of the sport in communities across Scotland.?

The 102nd Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup Final takes place on Saturday 19th September at Mossfield Park, Oban and will be televised live on BBC 2 Scotland.
